Built in 1675 as a mansion for a wealthy merchant, it serves as an outstanding example of baroque architecture of the Provence and Languedoc regions.

The façade is a registered landmark and is often noted in tourist guides of the south of France, Provence and Languedoc. The mansion is situated in the historic center of Beaucaire, close to the "Place Vieille" artist area and steps from Beaucaire's famous "Hôtel de Ville," designed by architect Charles Mansard.
